Neal Adams Holiday Recommendations

Deadman Vol 001

Deadman Book One Softcover: Neal Adams, Jack Miller, Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino, with an introduction by Arnold Drake.

Buy this book and look for the hidden “Hey, a Jim Steranko effect”…optical illusion…and all the stuff I was able to do back in the day…when no one had any idea what I was doing. I’m sure they thought I was nuts…but literally everyone read the book…including the folks at Marvel. You’ll find this kind of stuff in comics today, but this book…this is where it started.

Deadman Vol 002

Deadman Book Two Softcover: Neal Adams, Bob Haney, Robert Kanigher and George Tuska, with an introduction by Neal Adams. Guest-staring Batman, Robin and Aquaman.

The Deadman storyline heated up as I took over the writing chores. The focus was riveted on Deadman almost exclusively. He was the story. Boston Brand gets closer to the evil genius who caused his death. What is and who is the Sensei? He is the same Sensei from my new Batman: Odyssey series? The same villain who required death as a test. All the pieces of the Batman: Odyssey puzzle begin here. The art? It’s okay. Heh.

Deadman Hardcover

Deadman Hardcover - Deadman Hardbound Collectors Edition. 356 Pages!

It comes with a Hard Slipcase cover. This book has ALL the Deadman stories I penciled, inked and wrote, PLUS the back up stories in Aquaman AND the Brave and Bold. This volume includes my first Batman story that convinced DC that maybe I could handle a regular Batman book. Yep, I wanted to draw Batman even if I had to come in the Brave and the Bold back door. The first Deadman story I ever drew has been re-inked and re-colored to create a re-vamping introduction to the character. To make this edition extra special, I will draw a profile of Deadman in silver pen over the black first page of the book. You get an original Neal Adams Deadman drawing and autograph right inside your copy of the book!!! The buyer may request a dedication free of charge (example: To Bob) to be written in the book.

Monsters Hard Case

Monsters – by Neal Adams.

If there could be a serious Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolf movie, this should be it - all three monsters together in one story. I added pages into the final battle between the Frankenstein Monster and Count Dracula because…I just couldn’t help it! I fully wrote, penciled and inked this graphic novel because I believe in the story. As Jason and Pete remind me, there are pencils of the new pages, covers I’ve done with monsters, horror movie designs and tons of other stuff.

I would love to add a sketch to this book since I am extremely proud of it. Seriously consider getting one as a great gift to someone who is a fan of my work…or Frankenstein or Count Dracula or the Werewolf.

Green Lantern Hard Cover

Green Lantern/Green Arrow hardcover with Green Lantern Sketch

How do I convince DC to reprint this complete series of Green Lantern/Green Arrow comic stories? Every story in this collection is great. There’s a Green Lantern movie, a Green Lantern animated TV series, and a Green Arrow TV series. I’m not going to say that this series had something to do with it, but…maybe…

This massive collection redefined the Green Lantern character, bringing him and his best bud, Green Arrow, into the modern world. The answers weren’t black and white anymore. The list of talented inkers in this series is stunning and Denny O’Neil and I worked hard to say something serious about America and its problems at the time.

These last remaining copies have sketches of Green Lantern on the first page and can be personalized if you want.

Batman Vol 01

Batman Illustrated by Neal Adams – Volume One

This is the last of my personal copies of the Volume One collection of all my Batman work, featuring some of my favorites. The Brave and Bold issues contained within were written by Bob Haney and he gave me some of DC’s best characters to draw. Green Arrow, The Flash, The Creeper and many others. The stories feature Batman becoming the Dark Knight Detective once again and I’ve augmented the art as well as the coloring to make this volume a unique collection. Also, there are the covers and layouts I did for Detective Comics at the time.

Batman is one of my favorites and I would love to add a sketch to make this an extra-special, personalized, one-of-a-kind collectible.

Batman Vol 02

Batman Illustrated by Neal Adams – Volume Two

These are the very last personal copies I received from DC so I can only sell them at a premium. These stories are some of the classics, featuring old villains and a couple new ones…like Man-Bat. Wouldn’t he be a great movie villain? As with the previous volume, this one has the covers I did during this time period and I’ve perfected the art and coloring so it is a new reading experience.

Man-Bat and I go back to his very beginning, so I think a Man-Bat sketch would be an excellent addition to this collectible.

Batman Vol 03

Batman Illustrated by Neal Adams – Volume Three

The last, very best of my Batman stories and the last of my personal copies. All the stories have been computer colored and enhanced. Ra’s Al Ghul is one of the featured villains, along with the beautiful and dangerous Talia. I loved co-creating Ra’s so much that I used him and Talia as a major character in my new Batman: Odyssey series. There’s also “The Joker’s Five-Way Revenge”, that I inked myself and reminds me of the first ten minutes of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight movie. This volume has some of my amusement park designs and a previously unpublished Batman and Robin story.

A Batman sketch in this volume would be a collector’s dream. Or you could go with Ra’s. Or a sexy Talia face? Your choice, but these are the last of my stash until DC reprints it. And I hope they reprint it soon.

Superman VS Ali

Superman Vs. Muhammad Ali

I try not to love one job over another, but this one is truly special. The greatest of all time versus the greatest of all time and space! This story was perhaps MY greatest comic…and I know it would be the greatest Superman movie of all time. I didn’t draw Superman too much, but when I got the chance, I took it. Aliens, Superman, Ali and boxing. I love boxing because, when it’s done right, it’s REAL. That’s what I tried to capture in those scenes. A Superman sketch on one of these deluxe editions would be great. Or what about Ali, at the peak of his abilities? Who is the greatest in your mind?

Armor Silver Edition

Armor #1 – Silver Foil Edition

What can I say about Armor? He’s a ten, the best fighter and strategist in the universe and this issue is my first Continuity Comics superhero. I worked with my son, Jason Adams, to create this character because he and I both love martial arts, science fiction, and action. This silver foil edition is because Armor’s weapons are metal and it works so well on the cover, right?

Bucky Manga

Bucky O'Hare Manga format Trade Paperback

Bucky O’Hare and the intrepid crew of the Righteous Indignation battle the Toad Menace. Can I say how much I LOVE this collection? Michael Golden’s spectacular artwork and Larry Hama’s great writing bring an adventure for the ages. One day soon, these heroic characters will be on television and in the best animated movie ever made. I just know it!

NEal Adams Odyssey Sketch Book

Neal Adams Odyssey Sketch Book

This sketchbook has a plethora (did I say plethora) of my most recent work. From Odyssey, (of course) pencils and finishes to Blood (currently being printed in Dark Horse Presents) and the infamous “Two Men in a Bar” graphic novel which might, just might, have inspired the super-talented animators at Blue Sky for the new Ice Age: Continental Drift movie. Take a look at the preview. It looks great. Funny as…a Soup Sandwich.

NASB Savage2

The Neal Adams Savage 2 Sketch Book – SIGNED

The second Savage sketchbook, filled with barbarians and sexy broads. The 8-page middle section of this book has the full-color storyboards I did for the Conan movie presentation back before Arnold was a governor. There are jungle men, monsters and sword-wielding barbarians attacking other axe-wielding lizard-men and other barbarians. This is free-wheeling black and white (and some color) Savage images. Okay, so I’m not so civilized.

NASB_Savage01

Neal Adams Savage Sketch Book Signed

A collection of classic images I did for some jungle-hero book covers are in here. Some were printed and some have been decorating our walls. There are roughs to show preliminary work, some finished black and white images that I later painted, and some really tightly penciled images I did for my own character, Shaman – the man who destroyed all magic. There are monsters and demons and heroes and even a couple dinosaurs. (I love dinosaurs.)

NASB Rowdy Women

Neal Adams Rowdy and Beautiful Women Sketch Book – Signed

Okay, you got me…I LOVE drawing sexy, beautiful, long-legged women. In this sketchbook, I’ve picked some of my favorites. There are barbarian girls, beautiful advertising women, my own sexy creations like Samuree and Valeria, the She-Bat. There’s that super-heroine from the Green Lantern/Green Arrow series. Yeah, the one with the fishnets. Pencils and inks and layouts of sexy, rowdy, beautiful, women are all over this sketchbook.

Neal Adams Presents The Rise of Magic Sketch Book

The Rise of Magic is going to be the greatest series I’ve ever been involved in and this sketchbook is just the barest taste of it. (Character designs, layouts and covers are in here, as well.) Flip the book over and you’ll find storyboards I did for the BLOOD movie. This group of storyboards were the basis for my newest project, Blood which is currently being printed in Dark Horse Presents. Finally, there are double-page spreads and penciled pages from one of the greatest artists I ever worked with – Ernesto Infante. Inking him is one of my secret pleasures…he’s sooooo good that I steal the pages and ink them when no one is around.

NASB Sketches

The Neal Adams Sketches Book

You know why I keep my sketchbooks in print and don’t let them sell out? Because every single one has work in it that I would buy myself. This sketchbook is the first and I still love it. There are pencils of covers, layouts for commercial jobs and sketches I did for conventions and fans. There’re even some alternate designs to a certain Man of Steel cover I did a couple years back.

Neal Adams 6 Sketchbook Bundle

This is the best deal we’re presenting right now. Six excellent sketchbooks, filled to the brim with unpublished art or pencils and layouts. There’re some color sections and covers that few people have seen before, storyboards from projects that were brought to fruition and some that never did. This is work…for the most part…that you NEVER get to see.

4 Adams Sketch book

4 Adams' Sketch Book

All four of us together in one book. Me and my three sons, Joel, Jason and Josh…each one doing something different and unique. My son, Joel, draws Lilz (and sells them as licenses) and animation design (like King of the Hill). Jason Spyda Adams turns his own drawings and creations in sculptures and Josh, the youngest Adams son, draws Dr. Who and does storyboards and designs for commercial clients. Then there’s me…but this is about us as a group. A family that draws together…and has a great time at conventions together!
