People have asked in the past about inks Neal uses. India ink is the most popular followed by permanent fade proof kinds. Recently, Neal's been using a new bush pen which contains india ink. His strokes may be as free or and controlled as he wishes with these new india ink brush pens. Freer than dipping in an ink well. This past week we discovered that the company that makes these pens came out with colors. You may have seen some of Neal's wonderful commercial pieces that he used brown ink to ink parts of the art before coloring it. Neal ordered a handful of brown india ink pens to experiment with, so, as an experiment, I asked him to use brown india ink pens in some of the art. This is one of them. Catwoman. In this one it may be hard to see the slight color difference between the black and the umber ink since the umber is so close to black. However, the slight difference, when you look close enough adds a velvety quality to Catwoman's costume. Her face is a sharp black. It really looks nice and will look fantastic framed. 8.5"x11"
